Fashionably Inspiring Wanderlust in the PNW with Velvet & Vino

Having explored so many beautiful destinations across the world, there’s no place like home when it comes to the Pacific Northwest. My lifelong passion is to travel and experience the most diverse places, yet Seattle and all that’s surrounding fulfill this for me. I often wonder why I ever leave this place! When I’m not traveling internationally, you’ll find me exploring my own city and all the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

The Pacific Northwest is a haven for the most diverse experiences, bringing people together to delight in the best parts of life including magical beaches, lakes, mountains, spring flower fields, and of course, some of the finest dining options. As a travel blogger, I always take full advantage of fashionably inspiring wanderlust with my PNW lifestyle. There are so many aspects about the PNW that I love; I often pinch myself because I have the ultimate privilege of calling it home!

One of my favorite things to enjoy involves taking a day drive outside of Seattle. Year round, I absolutely love to soak in the majestic beaches on the West Coast. My husband and I will often pack up our dog and hit the road, making our way to the Washington coast. Our favorite beach to spend time at is Ruby Beach and the surrounding shorelines. We bring a lunch with us and find a wood log along the beach to sit, eat and listen to the waves while bird watching.

On hot summer days, my go-to activity is paddle boarding! I love packing up my paddle board and driving to the nearby lakes. It’s incredible that Seattle itself offers so many options within the city for paddle boarding, including beautiful inner-city lakes and shorelines along the Puget Sound. On days when we prefer to stay within the city, we often go to Elliott Bay in West Seattle for a ride on the paddle board.

Another favorite activity in the months of June and July, I love visiting the lavender fields. The lavender fields are a blogger’s and photographer’s paradise. Also, for those that enjoy the aroma of lavender, visiting the fields is like none other. Some of my favorites include the Woodinville Lavender Farm and Lavender Hill Farm on Vashon and last but not least, taking in the best of Seattle and the PNW is not complete without indulging in lunch or happy hour at Ivar’s Acres of Clams on the Seattle waterfront. I often get asked by my followers who are visiting Seattle for recommendations on where they should dine. My top choice is Ivar’s Acres of Clams for it’s local vibe, delicious seafood, and especially its central location at Pier 54. Plus, there’s no other place for satisfying your craving for Northwest seafood than Ivar’s and its delicious creations.

With so much to offer and enjoy year-round, the Pacific Northwest is my unique gem!
